Benjamin Neave Adams and Family

Benjamin Neave Adams (sometimes his middle name is recorded as Heave or Eve) is the son of John Hatlie Adams (his middle name is sometimes recorded Adlee). Unfortunately, I do not have the name of his mother. He was born 4 Sep 1780 in London, England. During his life, Benjamin worked as a watchmaker. He was an apprentice to Henry John Lynes.

He was married to Mary Jane Potter (sometimes found as Jane Potter) on 3 Jan 1802 in Shoreditch, St. Leonard's, London, England. Together they had four children:

Mary Jane Adams 13 May 1802

Benjamin Adams 12 Sep 1804

Joseph Hatley Adams 3 Jan 1807

John Arlee Adams 10 Mar 1809

After Mary's death in 1828, Benjamin married Sarah Elizabeth Bennett on 26 Oct 1829 in Tarleton, Lancashire, England. They had one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Adams, who was christianed on 22 Jun 1834.

Benjamin died in Liverpool on 17 Apr 1838 and was buried on 24 Apr 1838. According to a death certificate from London General register Office, Benajamin died of "decline". His late wife, Sarah, was present when he died. His death is also recorded in the England and Wales death index which can be found at ancestry.com

Hi Danielle

I am chasing this Ben for a friend's family history. Everything you say seems to be as I have found it although he did have more than one child to his second wife. However I have found the info given by a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints to the IGI to be very inaccurate. His birth is definitley not 4 September 1780 as I have looked at lots of origianl registers for this date, looking at 5 yrs either side of the date. If you want to talk with mne more reply to this blog.
