Wilhelm Amil Rieck



Wilhelm Amil Rieck (sometimes his first name is listed William and somtimes his middle name is spelled Emil. On his registration card for WWI he signed his name William Emil Rieck) is the son of Adolf (or Adolph) William Rieck and Anna Dorthea Yeager (or Jager). He was born on 22 Sep 1899 in Albion, Boone, Nebraska. On 12 Sept 1918 Wilhelm registered to fight in WWI. He was 18 at the time, lived with his family in Cedar Rapids, Boone, Nebraska, and worked for his father as a farmer. According to his registration card he was of medium height and medium build and he had brown hair and brown eyes.

He was married to Mildred Lucille Cullen on 20 Feb 1924 in Albion, Boone, Nebraska. Together they had 3 children:

Wilhelm and Mildred were later divorced. On 3 Aug 1942 he enlisted for WWII. According the enlistment records, he was enlisted in Portland, Oregon. His branch is listed as: Branch Immaterial- Warrant Officers, USA. His term of enlistment says: Enlistment for the duration of the war or other emergency, plu six months, subject to the discretion of the President or otherwise according to law. In September of 1950, Wilhelm married Cora Emma Zimmer in Reno, Washoe, Nevada. They had two girls. Wilhelm died on 13 Feb 1965 in Klamath Falls, Klamath, Oregon and was buried on 16 Feb 1965 in Klamath Memorial Park.
